Crested Butte Peak Hike

A team leader guides a participant with visual differences up the trail towards the peak of Mt. Crested Butte. Hiking poles act as a lead for the guide and as a way to feel out the trail for the participant.
Guide and participant stop and rest about 100 yards from the peak.
Almost completely blind, this participant sits down to wait for the rest of the group. He listens to hear how close the rest of the group is and smiles because he knows he is ahead.
A guide and participant sit on the trail and gaze out at Gunnison Valley. The guide describes the scenery so the participant can visualize how far they have come.
An Adaptive Sports Guide and volunteer tap rocks and verbally guide a participant through an extrememly rocky part of the trail. The guide on the left is scraping a pole against a rock so the participant can hear where it is located and know where to grab next.
The last 50 yards of the hike become a scramble as there is no direct path anymore, only large boulders to the summit.
Three visually impaired participants rest at the summit of Mount Crested Butte. They have hiked over a mile through rocky terrain with a very steep climb for the last half mile.
Using two GoPros and a DSLR Camera, I documented the journey from the bottom of Silver Queen Lift to the peak. Music is "Young" by Air Review.
